CAF Building Bridges virtual space, from San Francisco, CA to Central New Jersey

On Sunday September 19, 2021 the sun was shining bright on Compassion Action Foundation Building Bridges virtual space, from San Francisco CA to Central New Jersey. An enormous thank you to Brother Fatih Ates of the Pacifica Institute and Brother Savas Ozturk for hosting this event.

Imam Yilmaz Basak of the Santa Clara County Jails,shared more light with a beautiful Qur’an recitation. This warm and inviting light illuminated throughout the entire program. Imam Abu Qadr Al Amin shared his amazing life experiences. He was a young teen when him first encountering Islam at 14 years old. His Journey has taken him over 50 years in Islam. Now he is the Imam and Director of San Francisco Muslim Community Center. A space in which it has been said to parallel the United Nations with its diversity. He spoke of memories wail traveling to Turkey, for business and religious studies with fondness. His life journey full with amazing transforming successes.

Sister Laila, Director of CAF shared her families experience as Muslims beginning in the 1930’s, under the leadership of the, Honorable Elijah Muhammad (RA) continuing, under the leadership of Imam W. D. Mohammed (RA) to the now the continuing bright light of the Association of those leaderships in USA. Both Sister Laila and Imam Abu Qadr shared the rich US history of African American Muslim’s, influence and participation in Religion, Education, Patriotism, Civil Rights and Economic Development. After they share their lived experiences the audience was hungry for more information looking forward to reading the many publications and hearing more lived experiences. CAF Building Bridges, a beautiful reflection of American history!!!

Building Bridges workshop. On September 8

We are excited to have restarted the Building Bridges workshop. On September 8,2021 in the New York state capitol, Albany
 New York ! It is great to be back ! CAF’s last Building Bridges workshop was quite memorable. We returned on March 13th 2020 to the USA,to find the news of Covid 19. The delegation of educators. with the rest of the world  standing strong and are now working in our new way. We pray for those lost to this virus and give condolences to their loved ones. A celebratory morning on August 28th …

A celebratory morning on August 28th at the comfortable environment of the ANT bookstore, home of the informative Fountain magazine. CAF supporter and friend Dr Jon Yasin has retired as English professor at Bergan Community College. He and the round table of business persons, educators, religious / community leaders engaged in an amazing thought provoking dialogue. One of the guests said,
 “we retire in the grave” Dr Yasin said, no more grading papers. He said he now has time for his community projects. We are pleased to share that he will have more time to engage with CAF.

Qurban at Mali and Mozambique …

CAF distributes much-needed food packages to alleviate hunger and combat wide-spread famine throughout the Mali and Mozambique. Thanks for our supporter.

 

 

CAF’s 2021 Qurban campaign

According to the United Nations, over 820 million people are experiencing food insecurity right now. This number is expected to rapidly increase in lieu of COVID-19 pandemic, rising unemployment, financial and economic downfall, and political and civil unrest worldwide.

Embrace Relief’s various International Hunger Relief Campaigns are designed to combat the international hunger crisis and help as many people as possible around the globe – but this cannot be done without your help.

This year, Qurban is held from July 31st to August 3rd. During this time, sheep, goats, and cattle are humanely and hygienically sacrificed meaning it adheres to common dietary restrictions. During the celebration of Qurban, many people donate meat packages to those who do not have access or financial resources to purchase meat, which makes Qurban the one time per year these families can get it.

In honor of Qurban, you can send a meat package that has been humanely and hygienically sacrificed to a hungry family in Mozambique with oartner organization “Associacao Nova Esperanca”.

CAF Volunteers Building Bridge at Greensboro, NC

CAF volunteers are continuing to build bridges through iftar dinners at Greensboro, NC just like they have been doing here in our main location Newark, NJ.

Coming together to eat iftar together and share the table was very nice. Strong friendships were formed. There was an agreement that there would be many mutual visits after Ramadan.

As Compassion action we are continuing to build bridges.

Before iftar time, we distributed iftar dinner at South Plainfield which was organized by our Education Coordinator Sister Michele. Members of our community came and picked up their iftar. We thank Sister Joanne for being our host for this event.

 

 

 

Important Announcement!!!

Precious CAF volunteers and participants; we moved from our office for the past 6 years in Newark, NJ to our Totowa office.

For the past 3 years, we started to do all of our programs under the “Building Bridges” with our friends, our brothers, and our sisters. We will continue to all of our programs with the other organizations with Newark and other cities. We will follow all guidelines for Covid-19; education, cultural, art and sports activities will continue. We are awaiting your support for these programs and activities. New Bridges Through Iftar Dinners 2021 …

CAF olarak uzun bir aradan sonra tekrar community ile kopruler kurmaya devam ediyoruz. Newark daki Masjid-i Falahi ile CAF gonulluleri olarak iftar yemegini paylastik. Covid – 19 ne kadar umitleri yipratsada iftar dinner ile tekarardan umitlerimiz yeserdi. CAF olarak iftar dinnerlarimiza devam edecegiz.

As CAF we are continuing to build bridges with our community after a long gap. We shared the iftar dinner between the Masjid-i Flaahi in Newark and the CAF volunteers. Through this iftar dinner, we were able to bring back the hope that was strained due to Covid-19. As the CAF we will continue having iftar dinners.
