May 26th and 27th in Mount Prospect Illinois Compassion Action Foundation’s first collaborative women’s retreat, was a great success. Islamic Society of Midwest a 501c3 hosted the diverse group of women. The beautiful cultural center has an historical decor that gives you the feeling of being in the beautiful country Turkey.

The retreat attendees came right in with smiles and immediately felt a comfortability in this safe intimate space of sisterhood. The speakers shared information on life trauma, pain management and mindfulness. Activities range from aromatherapy, zumba and an international fashion show.The question was asked by many, “when is the next retreat?” One person said “we should do this twice a year!” Compassion Action Foundation is planning the next Women’s Retreat for October 2023. We Compassion Action Foundation are continuing to offer prayers of safety and healing for the people of Turkey. We are grateful to have shared an afternoon with a multicultural group of ladies around the effort of support for the victims of the earthquake. Compassion Action Foundation Breast Cancer and Domestic Violence Awareness Event was amazing ! An afternoon of empowerment. Women sharing space together and connecting with creation. The Paterson Great Falls a site to behold! It was a beautiful day in New Jersey, we enjoyed it. Listening to the National Park Ranger, as he shared the history of this National Park as well as a bit of science about the beautiful waterfalls. Breast cancer awareness and domestic violence dialogue was insightful. One of the women was a survivor of breast cancer and she shared her two diagnosis and the successful outcome. She also gave her first hand advice to us which we greatly appreciate it. Women shared things that they had not shared in years. The dialogue was therapeutic and empowering. Building Bridges in  South Jersey / Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Compassion Action Foundation Building Bridges in  South Jersey / Philadelphia Pennsylvania

Our first stop Peace Island PA for a delicious Turkish breakfast and dialogue. An engaging conversation around the hardships of refugees. Retired professor Vonya is collecting the stories of Turkish refugee, women and children. Her passion for helping these women share their experiences, and bring hope to humanity. She proves through her efforts that people do care. She is not only collecting the stories but she is helping and assisting the women with healthy and safe transition into their new lives.

Masjidullah in PA was our next stop. Imam Idris, gave us a tour of the beautiful modern campus, that includes a market area, with shopping, conversing and the aroma of fresh baked goods available for purchase. The community has a private daycare and grammar school. We concluded with a conversation around collaboration. We all shared are available programs and goals. We are looking forward to collaborating on Building Bridges and other programs.

In South Jersey we shared dinner and dialogue at the restaurant, On the grill. We were very happy to have our board member Zaimah Abdullah and her family join us. The dinner dialog conversations was engaging with topics of concern. Current news events, the world opening after covid quarantining and our up-and-coming women’s retreat.

Building Bridges in Newark NJ

Building Bridges in Newark NJ with Masjid Aleekah. We enjoyed the morning with breakfast and in the wonderful sound of our future leaders, the youth. The first day of summer school presentation was empowering for the students and guest. We look forward to more opportunities to get to know each other. Together we have great hope.
